After getting a name rhyming on Group Home's debut album on "Tha Realness," and on Gangstarr's "Words from The Ghetto Child" (on their last album "The Ownerz,") Smiley gained a buzz putting out a 12" single featuring production by DJ Premier. The next step was "The Antidote," where the Bronx-bred MC teams up with well-respected beatsmiths such as DJ Premier, Chaze (Grim Team), Green Lantern, Sebb, Showbiz, and others, giving "The Antidote" a very heavy New-York vibe.
